The back is light blue gray solid flannel. It measures a generous 36" x 36" which is the prefect infant to toddler size. It could also be used to decorate your favorite chair. This quilt is finished and ready to ship! other sizes are not available. I have quilted each square with an "x" and clipped all seams to expose layers
